I caught this video while at the Detroit Metropolitan airport. Very unique and sort of uplifting for the travellers.

Doggie vacation (Part 4)

Randy

While I was at DTW waiting for my flight, Randy, the working golden retriever, and his owner came by and sat next to me. He was very beautiful and obedient. When it was time to board the plane, Randy was almost dragging his owner to the plane.

Doggie vacation (Parts 2 & 3)

Daisy and Libby

I spend Christmas day with PCNAT at their friend’s place. That family had a black labrador but I’ve forgotten the name. Unfortunately, I did not managed to take a photo of that dog.

The day before I returned, I visited a dairy farm with PCNAT. The farm dogs, Libby (the very fat golden retriever) and Daisy (a black mutt), were accompanying us on the farm tour. Libby was carrying around and chewing on a deer leg! The fur and skin were still on one part of the leg. It was quite a funny – the sight of her running around with a deer leg dangling from her mouth.

Sayde and Stella

I spent several day/nights being dogsitters with PCNAT. The dachshunds, Sayde (purple collar) and Stella (red collar), were really adorable. Both of them were so contented just laying down by our side. They were also masters at seeking out food items when we were not around. We lost half a pack of Pringles, one christmas cookie, and several bits of chocolates to them.

Here is another picture of the Rigelsville bridge that I found on the internet. We have to push the bicycle along the wooden walkway.

Biking trip from riegelsville

riegelsville1

I went bike riding today with 2 friends, Becky and Jim. We drove to a place called Riegelsville just beside the Delaware river and rode on a road that runs almost parallel to the river. Nice view along the way. The last time I rode a bicycle was in 1998 on my good old blue mountainbike. This time I rode the extra bike that Jim had but it was a man’s bike and eventhough the seat was set to the lowest possible, my toes just barely touched the ground. I’m really glad I didn’t take a tumble or had any near accident. We rode altogether 15 miles (24km). We had to climb 2 hills abt 3/4 of the way and I was about to call it quits but Becky beat me to it, so we turned around, instead of going another 4 miles to the next town, Milford. We rode back and I strained a muscle trying to keep my balance while stopping and waiting for a truck to pass. But good thing, a little more pedalling “unstrained” the muscle. Well, I know a lot more muscles are going to be real sore tomorrow, I can feel the soreness starting now!

Oh..and Becky gave me her old bicycle :) Tomorrow, I’ll have to go get a bicycle helmet (I was riding without one today), bicycle lock, and a bicycle pump.

How wonderful..a free bicycle!

Elvis on the wall

Elvis on the wall
This picture was taken in a small shop in Virginia City, Nevada. They had the most unusual stuff. When I saw all the Elvis stuff I had to take pictures of them for Timothy, my 8-yr old little “brother”.

Great Salt Lake

Great Salt Lake

Sunday morning (April 9).

I wanted to go for a tour to the Great Salt Lake, unfortunately there wasn’t enough time to do that. I took this picture just as the plane was leaving SLC. This lake is the second saltiest lake on earth..second to the Dead Sea.
